Living a Life Without Limits

A long time ago, and for a long time — from the late 1980s to the early 2000s — I worked as a bartender. And I was a great bartender, because I’m always dedicated to doing my best (what’s the point of doing anything at all if you’re going to do it half-assed?)

During the mid ’90s or so, my friend Chris Sheppard (a famous DJ in Toronto that then became a musician in the dance bands BKS and Love Inc) used to do what he wanted… play what he wanted, when he wanted, how he wanted to.

He was the first person I ever heard mix New Order with AC/DC in the late ’80s. At the time I thought, “you can’t mix new wave with heavy rock”… but once I heard the results I opened my mind beyond the labels people were obsessed with back then, and stopped “shoulding on” people for the music they liked.

And I remember a song he used to play a lot in the dance music heyday of the ’90s, called “No Limit” by 2 Unlimited. It’s pretty cheesey, but here’s the video if you don’t remember it:

During the middle of the song, Chris would always turn down the volume and sing into the mic, “There’s no lyrics!” instead of “There’s no limit.”

If you listen to the song, you’ll know why he was saying that… but why the heck am I bringing this up now?

Animal Instinct: Emotions and Energy Unwrapped

Only humans have emotions, right? And only we are affected by other people’s energy (for instance, getting into a negative mood when surrounded by others who are giving off a negative vibe)?

I would have to say 100%, unequivocally, not.

AdoraBella AlpacasIn fact, I think (or rather, FEEL) that our emotions and energies are at a basic animal instinct level… which means, obviously, that our animal friends have those same instincts.

If you’ve spent a lot of time around animals, you probably agree with that. Most people who work or play with animals on a regular basis know these phenomena, and find it even more evident than our day-to-day interactions with people.

But it’s an important lesson that we can observe simply in animals, and apply to our communications with others.

Oil Me Up… Relaxation Inside and Out

Today I had my first Swedish massage… you know, the kind where you get naked and get rubbed all over with oil.

I’ve had Rolfing done a few times, but Rolfing doesn’t usually use oil; being lubed up is an interesting feeling, and makes the hands glide more smoothly over your skin. (The point of Rolfing is not to use friction-based motion, so the oil isn’t really required).

Okay, I do have to clarify — Barry has massaged me several times with the whole oil production (and he has Rolfed me several times too)… but I’m talking about a professional massage where I actually paid someone to use their years of expertise and training and give me the best their magic fingers can deliver.

The masseuse was Donna Schmid, who also runs the meditation group we attended last week. And that actually allowed her to use her intuition and previous experience with me to pinpoint some incredible things.

Visualizing Your Way to Success

Yesterday Barry gave me a guide called Creative Visualization: How to Create Whatever You Want In Your Life by Bryan Kumar (which you can download free by right-clicking on the title). I went through the process exactly as it was laid out, and I was impressed by how much further it goes than most other instructions on visualization I’ve read.

That’s what I love about our life together (well, one of the things, anyhow)… there’s always support and guidance in helping each other advance, discover, and develop personally.

Then coincidentally (in case you don’t know, I don’t believe in coincidences, so I use that phrase tongue-in-cheek) today Iain Legg, one of our affiliates at Masters of the Secret and co-creator of Real Mind Power Secrets, included it in his newsletter.

So that prompted me to write about what I’ve been able to uncover through many interviews with the experts where I’ve asked them about this very process.

Healing Physically and Emotionally

We all know that physical problems you experience can affect us emotionally… when you’re in severe pain or are fighting an illness you get depressed, you get down, you might cry or ask, “why me?”

But did you know that emotional problems can also affect you physically?

And that some physical issues you might have right now could actually be caused by emotional blocks instead?

I just got up off the floor where I was listening to the best hypnotherapy CD I’ve ever experienced.

I’ve actually tested several of them lately… but this one really impressed me the most.

It was created by well-known clinical hypnotherapist and media personality, Wendi Friesen.

Mercury Shines As Jupiter Is Rising

JupiterWell, yesterday we got a second cat. A little fluffball of a kitten, actually.

Mercury is a very affectionate cat who wants attention all the time… and she’ll either get it from us, or from another cat.

Since we’re trying to run a business around here, we can’t always give Mercury the attention she wants… so that’s why we got Jupiter.

“We’ll look at some cats,” Barry said yesterday morning, “But we’re not getting the first one we see. He has to be a special cat.”

No Such Thing As Nothing

Last night, Barry and I interviewed Gregg Braden, best-selling author of Hay House’s The Divine Matrix: Bridging Time, Space, Miracles and Belief for Masters of the Secret.

I posted an article on the Masters of the Secret blog about him a few days ago… it starts out like this:

First it was Alice in Wonderland. Then it was The Matrix. Then books like The Field and movies like What the Bleep Do We Know?

Yup… tune into the right media and you’ll be constantly given clues and messages to show you that life is not what it seems. The world around you is full of hidden treasures that you can only see if you open your eyes and your mind… and allow yourself to slide down the proverbial rabbit hole, with exuberance for the impending journey, excitement for what will be revealed to you, and most importantly, without trepidation or fear of what you might find.

Because like it or not, what you’re likely to find is the truth.

And sometimes the truth is a hard pill to swallow – whether it’s blue OR red.

Gregg Braden is an expert on quantum physics — the science behind how the Universe REALLY works.

Drunk on Wisdom, High on Altitude

A couple of days ago, a fan of Masters of the Secret wrote to me on Facebook, and told me she liked the video that Barry and I did on top of the mountain in Colorado

And she wanted to know if there was drinking involved. ;-)

Barry and I had a little giggle over that, but then we thought about it a bit harder.

Isn’t it interesting that in today’s world, with so many celebrities heading into rehab, people assume that having fun or being a bit silly, and just letting go of the inhibitions most of us carry around with us, means that there has to be alcohol (or drugs) in the equation?

Don’t Forget to Breathe…

I’m sitting here unwrapped… literally… except for a blanket from the couch (so I guess I’m actually wrapped).

Barry GossThe reason I’m not wearing any clothes is because I just had a massage/Rolfing session from Barry. Kind of like the epitome of pain and pleasure in life (Rolfing can be painful before the pleasure, while the oily Swedish part of the massage is just messy along with the pleasure).

“Don’t forget to breathe,” Barry kept reminding me, as I would tense up.

“Be in the moment and just enjoy it.”

When I took that advice to heart, I was able to enjoy both the physical sensations and the emotional sensations that go with it. Yes, when the physical body is worked, it releases emotional energies that were stuck as well.

Energy Balancing for $1 a Minute

Today Barry and I went to the Psychic and Holistic Fair at the Josephine County Fairgrounds in Grants Pass, Oregon.

I’ve been to bigger events like this, as I used to live in Toronto (population: several million and growing) but it’s been a long time.

Many of the booths there featured psychics or tarot card readers giving readings to people on the spot, and those booths seemed quite popular; but for myself, I’m not all that interested in what someone else says I “should” or “shouldn’t” do, or what “should” or “shouldn’t” happen in my life, no matter where they tell me that information is coming from.

(I did an interview with Success Net’s Michael Angier, which is featured in the portal at Manifest Life, where we talked about the 11th Commandment: “Thou shalt not should on thyself”)

But I was looking for a new alternative healing method, and decided to give Energy Balancing a try. The practitioner was Debrah Fisher, and she charged $15 for 15 minutes, $20 for 20 minutes, or $30 for 30 minutes to try it out.
