What Happens In Reno…

Mount ShastaBarry and I spent yesterday, Leap Day (kind of an extra day, if you think about it) on our first major road trip… driving 6 hours from Oregon through California to Reno, Nevada.

It’s a beautiful trip, through the mountains and then the forests, and this picture is indicative of what we got to appreciate as we drove.

(Well… Barry drove, and I rode beside him, taking pictures!) ;-)

They say “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas”… but what about what happens in Reno, further upstate?

Why is Reno called “The Biggest Little City in the World”?

Why is Vegas known for quickie weddings, while Reno is known for quickie divorces?

And why has Reno not grown to the size of Vegas all these years later?

There are a lot of things to ponder… but mostly I’m concentrating on enjoying the trip and being grateful for being able to share the experience (the natural beauty, the personal togetherness, the fun with friends and colleagues) with Barry.

The best things in life come when we’re grateful for what we already have, and appreciate every experience, big or small.

That includes the Biggest Little City in the World… or the Littlest Big City, or the Littlest Little City, or the beautiful mountains, the trees, the lakes, the oceans, or what-have-you.

Or just each other.

Heather and TazAnd another experience that I appreciated is when Barry won me a disco-purple sparkly Tasmanian Devil from a game at the Circus Circus casino.

He’s been promising to win me something at the fair for months, and Circus Circus has a gaming section that’s almost like a fair… so fair game (pun intended).

Purple is one of my very favorite colors, and Barry knew that — and specifically pointed out Taz before winning it.

Our first prize manifestation!

So it was a great opportunity to be goofy and have a little fun in this photo. How often do you get to pose with something that’s sparkly-purple pretty, but scary at the same time?

Anyhow… what happens in Reno stays in Reno… right?

Bear Won Me A Bear at the Fair!

Okay, it finally happened!

We manifested Barry (Bear) winning me a bear at the fair!

He actually first tried to win me a stuffed bear at a fair last summer, but didn’t end up getting the prize.

And Friday night he won me the purple Taz, which I appreciated a lot… but it wasn’t a bear, and I wanted Bear to win me a bear!

Heather and Reno Circus bearSo yesterday afternoon we were playing roulette at the Circus Circus Reno casino when a girl walked up to the table with a big bear that she had won upstairs.

I pointed it out to Barry and said, “She won a bear!” with a little knowing grin.

I asked her where she won it, and she told us at the darts game… then I told Bear, “You could win me one of those!”

I thought about it, I felt it.

I was sure it was going to happen.

Then we went upstairs, strolled around a bit, and finally came across the same darts game.

“There’s my bear…” I said to Barry.

The object of the game was to get a dart in the middle of a little white star — essentially a bullseye. Now, Barry hadn’t played darts in years, and figured he’d need about 30 to get up to bullseye standard… but he didn’t tell me that.

The second dart missed by about 2 millimeters.

And the next one nailed it… just 2 millimeters above the first.

We manifested the bullseye — and the bear! (Shown in the picture with me above)

What were the keys to accomplishing it?

What Life Is All About…

Heather and Barry - photo boothYesterday Barry and I went to Medford… I had an appointment at the LASIK center (my eyes have now healed, but while the vision in my left is perfect, the vision in my right has gone back to where it used to be when I wore contacts — that’s good because it’s better than it has been the past month, and because I still have some contact lenses that I can wear while I wait another two months to get a LASIK touch-up!)

Then we met with a prospective new business associate, and afterwards stayed for our weekly “date night”.

Yes, every Friday night is date night… so no matter how busy, frustrated, or buried in work we get during the week, we always know that Friday night is our time to relax, get out of work mode, enjoy each others’ company and appreciate being together.

Nothing is better for a relationship than the time you dedicate to each other, and you can kick that up a few notches by feeling grateful and appreciative for every moment that it lasts.

This time we went to Red Lobster (one of my favorite restaurants — and the one in Medford happens to be the only one around), followed by a movie.

The movie was forgettable… it was called Vantage Point, and the description seemed like an almost metaphysical drama about different viewpoints surrounding a situation, but it played out more like a boring repeat of the same viewpoint with emphasis on different people each time.

Oh, well, it was time alone, side by side in the dark… who can ask for anything more?

And before it started we had some time to kill, so we played around in the arcade downstairs where they had our favorite toy — a photo booth!

This one only took black and white photos, but gave us the opportunity to be goofy and have some fun… as well as take home a reminder of what fun we have together.

And that’s really what life is all about!

After all, like my email signature says…

The meaning of life is to play the game, have fun, and learn along the way!

Closed Door Sessions Opening Soon!

Okay, it’s kind of hush-hush… and no one’s supposed to know the details yet (so I actually can’t spill them here either)…

But I’m really excited about a new product launching next week.

Why?

Because I was there — behind the closed doors — and I know how much powerful information was revealed!

So were people like Mark Joyner, Marlon Sanders, Jeff Walker, Perry Marshall, Mike Filsaime, Rich Schefren, Armand Morin, Brad Fallon, and more!

(ummm… yeah, that’s right, it was just me and the boys!)

But for the first time, you can journey behind the closed doors with me.

You’ll find out more next week, but you can take a sneak preview at Closed Door Sessions.

When Is It Time To Stop Improving?

Do you ever find yourself striving so hard to improve that you just end up burning out?

How do you know when it’s time to take a break from it all?

I just wrote a post on the Life Without Limits Blog — a follow-up to a video Barry posted yesterday — that explains more, including a powerful article from Robert Holden, commentary by me, and audio clips from some relevant interviews I’ve done.

Read all about it — and get out of the trap — here.

A Lucky Leprechaun Limerick

shamrock Here’s a lucky leprechaun-inspired limerick I just wrote, in honor of St. Patty’s Day…

There once was a concept called luck,
That had people wading through muck.
They could not understand
How it fit in their plans,
So they sadly just remained stuck.

Umm… okay, maybe limericks aren’t my strong point.

But Barry and I just posted a pretty strong blog post over at the LWL Worldwide blog (complete with a hard-hitting guest article)…

Go ahead and skip on over to discover How To Command More Luck.

Closed Doors Are Now Open!

CLosed Door Sessions

Okay, it finally happened… the Closed Door Sessions have opened!

These are the private video interviews that happened behind closed doors in Colorado last summer… where, when no one else was around (including the camera operators!) I got the 11 featured teachers of The Next Internet Millionaire to spill their secrets on how to make money and be a success online.

Those experts were:

Mark Joyner * Armand Morin * Jeff Walker * Marlon Sanders * Mike Koenigs * Brad Fallon * Mike Filsaime * Ray Edwards * Perry Marshall * Dave Taylor * Rich Schefren

Up until now, no one has been allowed to see or hear what happened behind those closed doors. But today, and for a limited time, you have an invitation to come inside and join us.

As you can imagine, I dug deeply, followed up on their answers, and made sure they delivered on their promises to reveal their secrets so that anyone can model their successes.

Are you ready to experience what happened behind closed doors — while Joel Comm, Eric Holmlund and the contestants and crew on the show were out working on their challenges for the day?

Then consider this your personal invitation to join me where no one has had a chance to venture before…

Into the Closed Door Sessions.

False Sense of Safety In The Box

Today Barry and I picked up some plastic storage boxes at Wal-Mart, and one of them had a small cardboard rectangle inside… I’m not sure what the purpose of it was, since it wasn’t cushioning anything, but it fit loosely within the perimeter of the container.

A low semi-box inside a box. Or rather, a low wall that didn’t separate anything.

Jupiter in low boxBarry put the cardboard piece on the floor in the dining room… and Jupiter immediately decided that it was a good place to hang out.

She kept going in there again and again… sometimes just relaxing, and sometimes using it as a vantage point, hunting blind and launch pad to attack Mercury from whenever the latter happened to stroll by.

It seemed to me that she somehow felt this low box — this wall that doesn’t separate anything — was a place of safety and comfort.

And beyond that, she seemed to think that as long as she was INSIDE the box… nobody outside could see her, and hence Mercury wouldn’t suspect the upcoming pounce.

Of course, kids play these kinds of pretend games all the time… but when I saw my cat doing it, it made me think of how adult people remain in their comfort zones with a false sense of security.

What makes it worse when people do it is they don’t advance through life to their full potential because of this sense of security they have — whether associated with a JOB, a habit, or remaining with a life partner that is completely wrong for them because it’s “easier” and “safer” to do so.

What The Easter Bunny Brought

Easter Bunny and DucklingEaster has come to represent a time of new beginnings.

Eggs are a symbol of new life, Spring is a time of new growth, and we see images of baby rabbits, ducks and chickens everywhere we look.

Of course the religious tradition of Easter revolves around new beginnings as well, so it all makes sense.

This year, the Easter Bunny brought Barry and I something special… a new beginning of our own.

We just found out we’ve created the ultimate in manifestations — a new being (who will embody an old soul, but be new to this lifetime) that has already been created, but will be born to the world in November (shortly before my own birthday).

Yes… we’re expecting a baby!

Probably the most exciting, life-changing manifestation that exists!

And just like manifesting a career, a partner, a house, a car, wealth, health, or anything else — it’s after the initial seed is planted that the gestation period kicks in, and finally what you’ve created appears.

It never appears right away — because it needs time to develop, and for you to be ready for it, while it gets ready for you.

Funny how we all accept that when it comes to pregnancy… and yet we’re impatient when manifesting anything else on the above list.

Maybe we need to think of all our manifestations as babies, so we give them the patience, love and understanding they deserve.

Happy Easter!

Are You a Natural Born Marketer?

Most marketers want to take an approach that “feels right” for them. And it seems most spiritually-minded people aren’t very impressed with the average business or marketing book.

Why? Again… because it doesn’t “feel right”. It’s forced, or it’s dry, or dull, or too full of hype, or just doesn’t speak to their soul.

We all know that marketing and business are required to truly create a leveraged life of our dreams — one that allows us to stop trading time for money like in a JOB — and yet, how do you learn the skills when all the how-to information leaves you yawning, rolling your eyes, or scratching your head?

Joe VitaleBut there’s a new book out, by Joe Vitale — one of my former guests on Success Unwrapped and a star of the movie The Secret — and Craig Perrine, another topCraig Perrine marketer who embraces personal development and metaphysical techniques as well as physical hands-on how-to.

It’s called Inspired Marketing: The Astonishing Fun New Way to Create More Profits for Your Business by Following Your Heart.

Sound inspiring? (No pun intended!)
