Pain or Pleasure for Better Health?

Today I had a massage… yesterday I had acupuncture.

Both are great for health, but the treatment itself can involve some pain alongside the pleasure.

Funny thing, the massage actually contains more pain — like when Sheri Morris, my massage therapist, went deep into the knots and tender areas, working out the tension.

When she worked the less painful areas, it was quite enjoyable (and I was able to concentrate on feeling happy and grateful for the experience), but when she worked the more painful ones it was ironically enjoyable too, because I could feel the treatment working. The pain and tension seemed to melt right away.

She also does foot reflexology, and gave me a treatment to start out. But since I’m pregnant, there are certain areas around the ankle and heel that she can’t work on because they could trigger contractions. Good to keep in mind if you ever get a massage while pregnant!

Now here’s the really interesting part…

A Year Since The Seeds Were Planted…

Heather and Barry in ChicagoA year ago this weekend, Barry and I were at the System Seminar in Chicago… and met face-to-face for the first time ever.

We had been working together for over 6 months by that point, and had just had a major success with the launch of Masters Of The Secret

And we had been friends for over a year.

As business partners, we had done our fair share of arguing (hey, two ambitious, driven people who are passionate about what they do are bound to clash from time to time)…

But meeting in person allowed us to see that there were elements of each others’ personalities we had never noticed or given the other person credit for before.

Hanging out for the whole weekend — shooting video interviews together, attending sessions at the seminar together, eating meals together, and one night even exploring why “Chicago, Chicago is my kind of town” with a trip downtown to a jazz club and The Second City comedy show — cemented that we really were good together, both as friends and business partners.

But something else happened that weekend that was totally unexpected…

Blog Classroom is in Session… Free!

Blog ClassroomOkay, so you’ve heard how powerful blogs can be.

They’re easy to set up and start posting, even though making optimizations and tweaks can take some time if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Search engines love them, so you get indexed right away and start getting traffic — as long as people are searching for what you’re offering.

You can make money with them, if you do it the right way.

And you can add as much quality content as you like to keep visitors coming back for more.

So what do you do if you don’t know how to do all that?

Well, for just a couple more days, Blog Classroom’s pre-course is absolutely free!

banner

This is a course put together by Anik Singal and Rosalind Gardiner, two top marketers that I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing and conversing with on numerous occasions.

Anik is well-known for Affiliate Classroom and PPC Classroom, while Rosalind is the author of The Super Affiliate Handbook and was one of my first guests (and the only female) on Internet Marketing Unwrapped.

Both of them put a lot of emphasis on valuable content, and step-by-step how-to’s, so you know before going in that this Blog Classroom is worth the price your tuition… which, did I mention yet, is FREE for the next few days?

They’ll teach you how to get set up, posting content, and generating traffic in 10 minutes (yes, that’s right… you can start getting traffic in 10 minutes!) with free videos, homework assignments, teleseminars, webinars and more.

So join Blog Classroom now… the school bell’s about to ring!

How I Stopped Getting Needled

Well, today I went back to the acupuncturist for my second visit.

I’ve been kind of sitting on the fence for a few days about how the treatment worked, because the one spot in my shin that hurt when the needle went in — and the only point that hurt and bled when it came out — began really acting up on me last Friday.

It started when I just lightly tapped the acupuncture point on the mattress, and almost screamed in pain because it felt like someone was driving nails into my leg. I thought it was strange that it just started acting up three days after the initial treatment, so I figured it would stop just as quickly.

But from then to now, every time I move my leg the wrong way or accidentally touch it with something, the shooting pain returns.

So I told the doctor about it today, and he said it’s because something was stirred up that needed to be… but he’s never had it happen on that particular point. It’s usually on the hand.

Anyhow, he decided to only use 4 needles instead of 10 today, because he asked my body with his little Kinesiology technique and decided that my body was sensitive today. For the other points he used acupressure rather than acupuncture.

The good news is (or, the better news is, because that wasn’t really bad news) that apparently the removal of the egg allergy worked, and I tested clear for it. So today it was on to calcium.

And next week… back to the needles for the next allergy!

Optimal Strategies for Search Engines and Business

Heather Vale Nancy AndrewsLast week I interviewed top SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert Nancy Andrews, and today the interview went live on her LiveBlueprints website, appropriately enough!

If you’d like to know how to get free traffic, you’ll want to take a listen to this 45-minute interview… which is also free, of course!

I’ve interviewed lots of SEO experts before, but most of them you wouldn’t have heard unless you’re a customer of Brad Callen’s, since I did them exclusively for his community.

And, to be honest, this is the first woman I’ve interviewed about the topic.  Not that women can’t do the nitty-gritty testing, tracking and competitive analysis that often goes along with SEO and the tech aspects of online business just as well as men… but it seems more men either enjoy it, or want to talk about it in public.

But as you’ll soon hear, Nancy is cutting edge in her techniques and teachings, and understanding of what works and doesn’t work these days… and you can tap into her knowledge at my special interview page on LiveBlueprints, and walk away with some workable methods to implement right away.

And while you’re there, pick up another gift — Nancy’s Getting Started Business Blueprint manual which tells you exactly how to start and grow your own online business if you haven’t gotten it off the ground yet… or if you want to know some tricks to bump up its effectiveness.

It’s more comprehensive than many paid courses I’ve seen on the topic, but this one’s yours for free.

You can only get the Getting Started manual for a few days, so be sure to go and listen, then download your e-book, as soon as you can.

Perspective on Appreciation

Brennan Kingsland of Shepherd’s Haven Sanctuary, a private animal rescue shelter, left me a comment earlier that brought me to her blog…

And I saw a video she had posted there that really had some impact.

If you ever think you “don’t have enough” or “everybody’s better off than you”, this video will help you realize that’s not necessarily true.

YouTube Preview Image

And yes, it’s set to a cover of an old Tears for Fears song I used to really like, so that won points for me too. ;-)

But while it’s important to appreciate the fact that you’re probably richer than 75% of the world (according to the video), it’s equally important not to let that lull you into a comfort zone.

OMG, I’ve Been Punctured!

Okay, I finally did it… I gave in, faced my fears, and got acupuncture done.

Yes, acuPUNCTURE!

I always said that I didn’t mind acupressure, but acupuncture was something I never wanted to do. Geez, who wants needles stuck in their skin, and willingly to boot!

But I’ve read and heard too much about what it can do to heal the body by re-aligning our energy flow, that I just had to do it, scared or not.

Lesson learned: Facing your fears is the best way to overcome them (I already knew that, but I need reminding each and every time!) ;-)

And wow… I discovered some really surprising things today!

4 Minute Money?

Is it possible to make money in 4 minutes?

Or, rather, is it possible to put passive income streams into place by spending small chunks of time — like 4 minutes — on any one piece?

I didn’t think so either, until I read Harris Fellman and Brian Koz’s new report on 4 Minute Money.

4 Minute Money reportWell, I actually read their whole course that’s coming out in a few days, and there were some brilliant ideas in there that I’d never have thought of.

But you can get some of those ideas right now just from reading the free report, which you can download by right-clicking here (or on the graphic to the left).

Some of what you’ll discover revolves around the 5 guides that make up the bulk of the upcoming course, which are:

4MM Guide #1 - “Give People Money & Get Paid to Do It”
4MM Guide #2 - “Total Reciprocity – Get Paid to Ask for Nothing”
4MM Guide #3 - “The Automaton System: Robots Making You Money”
4MM Guide #4 - “The Insider’s Guide to Instantly Getting Your Own Free Labor, Products, and Money”
4MM Guide #5 - “4 Minute Traffic Tactics”

Sound too good to be true?

It’s not, and the membership also comes with some cool scripts and outsourcing services to do nearly all the suggestions in the guides — free or at a profit!

So download the free PDF report here now, and if you like what you read — and can get your head around the not-so-far-fetched promise of making money with 4 minutes of work — get ready to discover more in a few days!

A HORSE is a HORSE, Of Course…

Last night Barry and I went to the gym for date night.

I know, the gym… how romantic, right?

But we actually have a lot of fun at the gym together.  Usually it starts off with some stretching and/or machine workouts, then a game of basketball, and finally a dip in the pool.

We used to end the pool time with a hot tub soak, but now that I’m pregnant I’m not supposed to submerge myself in water that hot — there is a warm therapeutic pool that’s the next best thing, though… and we can do water yoga, stretches, small laps, or use the water weights for an enjoyable workout.

And… having Barry pull me around the pool with a foam tube is a fun ride for me (and a great workout for him).

But last night, the most amazing part happened before we got in the pool!
