Today, October 10th, 2010, is our wedding anniversary: 10-10-10.
Until now, we haven’t seemed to share the date with many couples.
After all, traditionally people get married in the summer, and according to an article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Hallmark says August is now the number one month for weddings, followed by June, July, September… and October in 5th place.
But when Barry and I got married two years ago, we liked the 10-10 date. It had the symbolism of making the wedding and the marriage a perfect 10.
Now, it seems, thousands of couples agree with us, as they rush to the altar today (and aim for the 10:10 a.m. time — which happens to be exactly when I’m writing this — to get a full 10-10-10-10-10).

These days, a lot of people complain about money problems.
Barry tackled the issue in his latest post for our LWL Worldwide blog, pointing out some key mindset blocks, tips for making more, and sharing an inspiring video.
The video’s promoting a TV show, but it still gets to the heart of the emotions involved in drive and determination.

Last night Konan went to bed a one-year-old, and woke up a two-year-old.
It’s the only time in our lives we can double our ages overnight.
Here he is enjoying his 2nd birthday cake, mastering the use of a fork (unlike last year when it was all about fists and fingers).
They call this the “terrible twos,” but I’ve been advised by moms who have been there that it’s actually a wonderful year when kids finally learn about their independence and discover how to stand in their own truths.
So happy birthday and happy independence day, Konan… and many, many more years of learning, growing and developing through this thing we call “life”.

I might almost get jealous over this post Barry wrote, if I didn’t know the challenges he’s had in finding the perfect pillow.
Yeah, in some ways the journey is like finding the perfect partner.
“What’s the big deal about pillows?” you might ask.
But if you’ve ever suffered from a headache or crick in your neck after sleeping on the wrong one, you’ll know exactly why he made this impassioned plea.
And if you help him out, you have a chance to win a one-year membership to The Wealth Vault, our insiders’ passive-investing club.

My parents live in Ontario, Canada, and we live 3,000 miles away in Southern Oregon.
Obviously that makes it difficult for them to see us or Konan, so they miss many of his major milestones — like the 2nd birthday he celebrated last week.
I remember when I was a kid, my grandparents were lucky to get the odd photograph (printed from a roll of film) in a Christmas card. It was just a lot harder to share memories with people that lived far away…

First of all, Happy Halloween!
Secondly, if you’re being inundated with media scare tactics about today (or any day, for that matter), you should know a few things about what really deserves your concern (or not).
My latest post on the LWL Worldwide blog expands on that, with some help from a few resources: Why Wealthier is Healthier and Regulation Kills.
Remember, worry is a heavy and unproductive load to drag around with you, so only use it when absolutely required!
