The Money Is In The Deliverability

Those of us who work online are told the money is in the list (our friend Marlon Sanders came up with that one) — and I get more questions about list-building than anything else — but what good is the list, or building it, if your emails don’t get delivered?

See, email deliverability kind of sucks right now… and it’s getting worse across the board.

Just try sending something to a subscriber who’s using AOL, Comcast, Bellsouth or SBCGlobal, for instance. Often they don’t even get the confirmation email with the link they need to click to become a subscriber in the first place… it’s like the emails just evaporate before they even hit the spam box, let alone the inbox.

At least with Yahoo or Hotmail the worst you’ll get is being sent to the junk box… which is still bad, but at least it’s there.

(By the way, my absolute favorite service — for features AND for deliverability — is Gmail. Yup, Google does it again!)

So the bottom line is, you can have a list of 10,000 people… but you’re lucky if 1,000 emails even get through to those subscribers’ inboxes — people who WANT to get your emails — and then of course, not all of those delivered mails get opened.

Big Jason and bunny That’s why I am doing something about it, with the help of Big Jason and his unbelievably priced firesale.

(That’s him with one of his pet bunnies… and as a former bunny owner myself, who also trained my rabbits to enjoy lying upside down, I like this picture. You usually see him standing beside people showing how tall he is, but this time you’ll have to take my word for it… he’s 6’11″)

You might remember Big Jason Henderson from The Next Internet Millionaire… the one that everyone loved to hate (kinda like Piers Morgan from The Celebrity Apprentice, except less in-your-face!) ;-)

Are You a Natural Born Marketer?

Most marketers want to take an approach that “feels right” for them. And it seems most spiritually-minded people aren’t very impressed with the average business or marketing book.

Why? Again… because it doesn’t “feel right”. It’s forced, or it’s dry, or dull, or too full of hype, or just doesn’t speak to their soul.

We all know that marketing and business are required to truly create a leveraged life of our dreams — one that allows us to stop trading time for money like in a JOB — and yet, how do you learn the skills when all the how-to information leaves you yawning, rolling your eyes, or scratching your head?

Joe VitaleBut there’s a new book out, by Joe Vitale — one of my former guests on Success Unwrapped and a star of the movie The Secret — and Craig Perrine, another topCraig Perrine marketer who embraces personal development and metaphysical techniques as well as physical hands-on how-to.

It’s called Inspired Marketing: The Astonishing Fun New Way to Create More Profits for Your Business by Following Your Heart.

Sound inspiring? (No pun intended!)

Closed Doors Are Now Open!

CLosed Door Sessions

Okay, it finally happened… the Closed Door Sessions have opened!

These are the private video interviews that happened behind closed doors in Colorado last summer… where, when no one else was around (including the camera operators!) I got the 11 featured teachers of The Next Internet Millionaire to spill their secrets on how to make money and be a success online.

Those experts were:

Mark Joyner * Armand Morin * Jeff Walker * Marlon Sanders * Mike Koenigs * Brad Fallon * Mike Filsaime * Ray Edwards * Perry Marshall * Dave Taylor * Rich Schefren

Up until now, no one has been allowed to see or hear what happened behind those closed doors. But today, and for a limited time, you have an invitation to come inside and join us.

As you can imagine, I dug deeply, followed up on their answers, and made sure they delivered on their promises to reveal their secrets so that anyone can model their successes.

Are you ready to experience what happened behind closed doors — while Joel Comm, Eric Holmlund and the contestants and crew on the show were out working on their challenges for the day?

Then consider this your personal invitation to join me where no one has had a chance to venture before…

Into the Closed Door Sessions.

Keep Unwrapping your Success!

Closed Door Sessions Opening Soon!

Okay, it’s kind of hush-hush… and no one’s supposed to know the details yet (so I actually can’t spill them here either)…

But I’m really excited about a new product launching next week.

Why?

Because I was there — behind the closed doors — and I know how much powerful information was revealed!

So were people like Mark Joyner, Marlon Sanders, Jeff Walker, Perry Marshall, Mike Filsaime, Rich Schefren, Armand Morin, Brad Fallon, and more!

(ummm… yeah, that’s right, it was just me and the boys!)

But for the first time, you can journey behind the closed doors with me.

You’ll find out more next week, but you can take a sneak preview at Closed Door Sessions.

Keep Unwrapping your Success!

Visualizing the Big Reward… Or Award

Last night the Oscars were on… formally called The Academy Awards, but colloquially called the Oscars (because technically, the Emmy Awards are also Academy Awards, as are Canadian awards like the Geminis and the Genies… they’re all awarded by “The Academy”).

And besides, who wouldn’t want to honor the little gold man named Oscar?

While watching the presentations — and the many flashbacks, since it was the 80th annual show — one thing caught my attention time and time again.

People were talking about all the times they had “pictured” (visualized) that moment onstage… and how they had followed their dreams against all odds.

What does it take to make a dream come true?

  • Vision?
  • Conviction?
  • Ambition?
  • Action?

Or maybe all of the above “ion”s?

Hindsight is 20/20, and looking back on what people have achieved, it’s tempting to say, “Well, it was easy for them… they have (talent, looks, money, fame, whatever, blah-blah-blah)…”

But was it easy for them?

Maybe, because they loved every minute of the journey.

Could it be “easy” for you too?

Why not?

Go for the big reward… and maybe that involves an award, or maybe just the achievement is enough.

But dare to dream… and dream big.

Because if you shoot for the stars, you may hit the moon.

One Year Since Freedom Day

One year ago today I manifested Freedom Day.

And what a year it’s been!

A lot of changes have happened in my life since that day.  Not only did I learn a lot about myself from a business standpoint, but on a personal level too.

At the time, Barry and I were just friends… very good friends, but friends nonetheless.

Now I couldn’t imagine life without him…

And I can barely remember my work life before Freedom Day.

If you’ve ever wondered if you can work full time online — build your own business, or join together with like-minded people — I’m here to tell you that yes, it is possible.

Live the dream!

And if you need some free help… you’ll find it in my teleseminar series, Internet Marketing Unwrapped.

Unwrapped For The Sixth Time

Mike FilsaimeI thought I was interviewing Mike Filsaime (Mr. Butterfly Marketing) for the fifth time today… but it turns out it was the sixth.

It took me almost a year of asking to get him the first time, and that first interview was a year ago… Jan 2007.  Which means I’ve averaged an interview with him every two months.

Here’s the breakdown of how it went:

1. For my teleseminar series, Internet Marketing Unwrapped

2. For Brad Callen‘s Elite Sessions teleseminar series

3. For another Brad Callen project

4. For a webinar for Brad Callen‘s customers, to promote the 7 Figure Code

5. For Joel Comm’s Next Internet Millionaire (we did a separate product called The Closed Door Sessions)

6. Today… a follow-up call for Brad Callen‘s 7 Figure Code customers

So what do you ask someone when you’ve interviewed them that many times?

Is it just the same old, same old, every time?

How is it possible to keep it fresh?

The Sound of OHM From My Past…

Once upon a time, I used to interview celebrities and performers as a TV show host and Arts & Entertainment reporter.

Since I also produced the show, I was able to do it my own way… and that included a look that went against the norm (like funky clothes and long, bright red hair when everyone else on TV current affairs or news shows had short blonde or brunette hair).

I also invented what I call the Show Host Walk-and-Talk when everyone else was sitting or standing… and after I started doing it, a lot of other people followed suit. I love being a trend-setter! ;-)

Anyway, over the years — as I moved into radio and then online reporting and interviewing — I thought that I had moved from focusing on success in Arts & Entertainment to success in Business and Metaphysical topics.

But a few days ago someone sent me a link to an online video that features an interview I did 13 years ago, in 1995, with a musican named Peter Morrison.

His band was called Ohm and the Temple of Sound… and after listening to the interview again, I realized I had been dipping my toes in the Metaphysical waters — ready to dive in headfirst another 10 years later.

Funny how our past shapes our present and our future… even when we don’t realize it’s happening.

Why The Rich Shall Inherit The Earth… And Save The World

You see people walking picket lines, protesting this and that, marching for world peace… and they’re making a difference for the planet, right?

They’re spiritually enlightened, with their hearts in the right places, and they care more about humanity than prosperity.

People like Mother Teresa, Gandhi, and the average Buddhist monk on the hill — people who believe it’s better to give than receive — they’re the ones who will save us from doom and gloom… aren’t they?

And while the activists are saving the world, the starving artists are making it more beautiful.

Anyone who makes a living from their art is just a “sell-out”, whether it’s a musician making money off a TV commercial, or a painter who sells their masterpieces to decorate big corporate head offices.

Right… ???

Umm… hmmm.

What would you say if I told you that was a complete and total “bass-ackwards” (as Barry likes to say) way of thinking?…

The 7 Figure Manifestation

Barry and I have been watching something quite interesting the past few nights. It’s a DVD course by one of the most successful online marketers around… but that’s not what’s so interesting about it.

Sure, we’ve been learning how to take our business to the next level, which is great. I’ll share some of the most profound things we’ve taken away from it so far in a bit.

But I guess the most interesting thing is something to do with the person, not the actual content.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson and Oliver Wendell Holmes (attributed to both, depending on the source)

You see, he started online just a few years ago. He knew nothing about internet marketing when he answered a repetitive spam email that kept showing up in his first ever email account, and discovered his first online instructional course.

And by now, I’d be very surprised if you’ve never heard of him. He came on the scene in a small way first, then made a big splash… and it’s just been snowballing since then.

But there’s more to it than that…
