If She Did It… Why Not You?

Janet Beckers

We always hear about people who are big successes on the internet. But quite often we forget that they were once nobodies, they were once failing, they were once having a hard time making ends meet.

(Yes, believe it or not, every huge success story is riddled with failures along the way. It’s what makes the success sweeter, and the journey worthwhile.)

Janet Beckers is one such person.

You may think she just came out of the woodwork a year ago, but there was a lot of preparation that got her to that point.

And it wasn’t just hands-on work… she did a lot of inner work too, bringing together physical and metaphysical techniques to create true, well-rounded success.

Amazingly, once she made the decision to finally do what works, it only took 6 weeks to get the site launched and another 6 weeks to match the income she had made in the previous year.

Yes… 6 weeks, and she made as much as her whole previous annual income!

I decided to sit down with Janet and discuss her journey to success — what worked, what didn’t work, what led to her breakthrough — and how she’s now sharing what she learned with others to fulfill her passion of helping people become online successes themselves.

So why not you?

Why can’t you be next?

Well, there’s definitely no reason why you can’t be… and you can find out more in this 36-minute interview.

First, listen to the interview here:

And then pick up your gifts and check out the workshop schedule, or become a member (free or Gold) of Janet’s website, by clicking here.

Optimal Strategies for Search Engines and Business

Heather Vale Nancy AndrewsLast week I interviewed top SEO (Search Engine Optimization) expert Nancy Andrews, and today the interview went live on her LiveBlueprints website, appropriately enough!

If you’d like to know how to get free traffic, you’ll want to take a listen to this 45-minute interview… which is also free, of course!

I’ve interviewed lots of SEO experts before, but most of them you wouldn’t have heard unless you’re a customer of Brad Callen’s, since I did them exclusively for his community.

And, to be honest, this is the first woman I’ve interviewed about the topic.  Not that women can’t do the nitty-gritty testing, tracking and competitive analysis that often goes along with SEO and the tech aspects of online business just as well as men… but it seems more men either enjoy it, or want to talk about it in public.

But as you’ll soon hear, Nancy is cutting edge in her techniques and teachings, and understanding of what works and doesn’t work these days… and you can tap into her knowledge at my special interview page on LiveBlueprints, and walk away with some workable methods to implement right away.

And while you’re there, pick up another gift — Nancy’s Getting Started Business Blueprint manual which tells you exactly how to start and grow your own online business if you haven’t gotten it off the ground yet… or if you want to know some tricks to bump up its effectiveness.

It’s more comprehensive than many paid courses I’ve seen on the topic, but this one’s yours for free.

You can only get the Getting Started manual for a few days, so be sure to go and listen, then download your e-book, as soon as you can.

Closed Doors Are Now Open!

CLosed Door Sessions

Okay, it finally happened… the Closed Door Sessions have opened!

These are the private video interviews that happened behind closed doors in Colorado last summer… where, when no one else was around (including the camera operators!) I got the 11 featured teachers of The Next Internet Millionaire to spill their secrets on how to make money and be a success online.

Those experts were:

Mark Joyner * Armand Morin * Jeff Walker * Marlon Sanders * Mike Koenigs * Brad Fallon * Mike Filsaime * Ray Edwards * Perry Marshall * Dave Taylor * Rich Schefren

Up until now, no one has been allowed to see or hear what happened behind those closed doors. But today, and for a limited time, you have an invitation to come inside and join us.

As you can imagine, I dug deeply, followed up on their answers, and made sure they delivered on their promises to reveal their secrets so that anyone can model their successes.

Are you ready to experience what happened behind closed doors — while Joel Comm, Eric Holmlund and the contestants and crew on the show were out working on their challenges for the day?

Then consider this your personal invitation to join me where no one has had a chance to venture before…

Into the Closed Door Sessions.

Unwrapped For The Sixth Time

Mike FilsaimeI thought I was interviewing Mike Filsaime (Mr. Butterfly Marketing) for the fifth time today… but it turns out it was the sixth.

It took me almost a year of asking to get him the first time, and that first interview was a year ago… Jan 2007.  Which means I’ve averaged an interview with him every two months.

Here’s the breakdown of how it went:

1. For my teleseminar series, Internet Marketing Unwrapped

2. For Brad Callen’s Elite Sessions teleseminar series

3. For another Brad Callen project

4. For a webinar for Brad Callen’s customers, to promote the 7 Figure Code

5. For Joel Comm’s Next Internet Millionaire (we did a separate product called The Closed Door Sessions)

6. Today… a follow-up call for Brad Callen’s 7 Figure Code customers

So what do you ask someone when you’ve interviewed them that many times?

Is it just the same old, same old, every time?

How is it possible to keep it fresh?

The Sound of OHM From My Past…

Once upon a time, I used to interview celebrities and performers as a TV show host and Arts & Entertainment reporter.

Since I also produced the show, I was able to do it my own way… and that included a look that went against the norm (like funky clothes and long, bright red hair when everyone else on TV current affairs or news shows had short blonde or brunette hair).

I also invented what I call the Show Host Walk-and-Talk when everyone else was sitting or standing… and after I started doing it, a lot of other people followed suit. I love being a trend-setter! ;-)

Anyway, over the years — as I moved into radio and then online reporting and interviewing — I thought that I had moved from focusing on success in Arts & Entertainment to success in Business and Metaphysical topics.

But a few days ago someone sent me a link to an online video that features an interview I did 13 years ago, in 1995, with a musican named Peter Morrison.

His band was called Ohm and the Temple of Sound… and after listening to the interview again, I realized I had been dipping my toes in the Metaphysical waters — ready to dive in headfirst another 10 years later.

Funny how our past shapes our present and our future… even when we don’t realize it’s happening.

Check out that old video clip from my TV show, WORD, here:

The 7 Figure Manifestation

Barry and I have been watching something quite interesting the past few nights. It’s a DVD course by one of the most successful online marketers around… but that’s not what’s so interesting about it.

Sure, we’ve been learning how to take our business to the next level, which is great. I’ll share some of the most profound things we’ve taken away from it so far in a bit.

But I guess the most interesting thing is something to do with the person, not the actual content.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters, compared to what lies within us.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson and Oliver Wendell Holmes (attributed to both, depending on the source)

You see, he started online just a few years ago. He knew nothing about internet marketing when he answered a repetitive spam email that kept showing up in his first ever email account, and discovered his first online instructional course.

And by now, I’d be very surprised if you’ve never heard of him. He came on the scene in a small way first, then made a big splash… and it’s just been snowballing since then.

But there’s more to it than that…

Discover the Secrets of Manifesting… Free

Secrets of ManifestingToday, Barry and I released our latest free talking e-book… it’s called The Secrets of Manifesting, and it features a compelling, revealing and powerful 2-on-2 interview with Jafree Ozwald and Margot Zaher.

One of my favorite things that we talked about was the roller coaster of life, why we ride it (and why it’s not something to get off of), and how to transcend that ride.

Every time I get frustrated with something now, or when Barry and I are dealing with a stumbling block, we just put our hands in the air and yell, “Wheeee!”

You’ll have to listen to the talking e-book (or read it) to understand completely what I’m talking about, but I found it very profound. A lot of the conversation also reminded me of conversations Barry and I have had with people like Robert Scheinfeld, Mike Dooley, Bill Harris and others, revolving around why we’re here and what the purpose of life is.

There are also a lot of great tips on how to meditate better, and how to manifest things faster and easier than ever before.

Things Aren’t Always As They Seem…

Mark JoynerI couple of years ago, I first talked to Mark Joyner by email. He was “The Godfather of Internet Marketing” and was credited with inventing ebooks, and I wanted his input for a project I was doing on publishing.

I ended up interviewing him by phone several times as well, and during that period I would get emails from his assistant every now and then saying, “Mark thanks you for your comment here” and she would put a link to one of my blogs where I had mentioned Mark or one of his products.

It really impressed me, because every time it happened, it was within hours of me posting the article in question. One time I even wrote, “I know Mark will read this, so…” and sure enough, he did.

When I first talked to him on the phone, it was to interview him for Success Unwrapped, and I took the opportunity when the interview was over to ask him how he was seeing my blog posts about him almost as soon as they were published.

He told me that he had been looking his name up in Technorati, and that was how he found new partners for Simpleology.

Simpleology, by the way, is “The Simple Science of Getting What You Want”… a very effective time management and goal-setting system you can get for free, with software that rivals certain aspects of expensive PIM programs and makes keeping track of your life — and keeping your life on track — much easier.

Mark makes it a point in public to NOT endorse manifestation techniques, preferring real-world hands-on tactics instead… but in fact, the visualization and emotional aspects of Simpleology are based on the same things that law of attraction experts teach.

Anyhow, when Mark was seemingly instantaneously tapping into my blog posts through Technorati, I figured he was living up to his reputation as the Godfather of Internet Marketing, showing how he still (even after people said he “retired” from the industry) was on the cutting edge of online technology.

But, things aren’t always as they seem…

To Live The Life Of Your Dreams

Last night my back was hurting me after doing a bunch of physical work, and before I could even think too hard about it, the next thing you know I’m face down on the floor getting a wonderful hour-long massage from Barry.

As I was enjoying the treatment, I made sure to tell him how grateful I was. And he told me that I was living the life of my dreams because of all the time I spent thinking about it before. That led me to a profound new thought:

To live the life of your dreams… you have to dream it first.

If you’re not dreaming about the life you want to live… how will you know when you get it?

Part of what has become my dream life came from interviewing people.

And on Monday, when I’m in Las Vegas with Barry experiencing more things I’ve only dreamed about, you’ll have the chance to find out from me live why that is… and how you can do it too.

Why?

Monday I’m being interviewed about interviewing again… but for the first time, it’s in public. I’ll be a featured speaker on the award-winning series, Wonderful Web Women.

My topic is “Conducting Content-Rich Interviews for High-Demand, Profit-Pulling Products”.

Yes, that’s right… “The Unwrapper” (that’s me) is being unwrapped, live.

Digging For Answers Without A Shovel

Yesterday I conducted two interviews, and I wasn’t completely happy with either of them.

Of course, nothing is ever perfect, and I did the best I could in both cases. But something was just a little off.

First I interviewed Craig Newmark, the founder of Craigslist, which was a really cool experience. His network of sites has become a cultural icon, and he has been recognized many times over as being very influential.

Craigslist is kind of funny to me, because it’s SO simple looking, and yet so effective. It’s like a cutting-edge concept with a grassroots look; a multi-national company with a small business or solo entrepreneurial feel.

But people use it all the time, and love it, and I’ve bought and sold things there myself. Most recently I found a great elliptical training machine in Medford, about 30 minutes away, for about $100. For years I’ve used a stair climber, but I knew it wouldn’t be worth it to ship it to Oregon from Toronto, so I ended up with a better machine at a fraction of the price.

According to Craig in the interview, the community doesn’t care about fancy graphics or features, they just want it to do what it does; so it will probably stay basic forever.
