When a LifeSaver Really is a Life Saver…

A recent Parenting magazine article focused on how you can calm down, even amidst all the hustle and bustle of being a parent. And, well, that goes for non-parents too, whether you’re working at home, doing the daily rat race, or going to school.

The article referenced author and yoga teacher Fred L. Miller’s book, How to Calm Down.

I liked all the tips, but one of them really stuck out for me:

Pop a LifeSaver into your mouth. Focus on the fruity taste of the cherry, lime, orange, or pineapple flavor, and resist the temptation to chew. The longer you suck and concentrate on the flavor, the more calm and tranquil you’ll start to feel.

I always thought it was about the shape of the candy, but maybe there was more to it when they named the candy a LifeSaver!

Honestly, though, you can do the same thing with anything meant for oral consumption. Any candy, any food, any beverage… just focus on how wonderful and amazing it tastes, and feel grateful and appreciative for the ability to enjoy it.

Sloooow down… relax… and then come back to regular life renewed.

This will also amp up your manifesting emotions, so you’re prepared to have more things go your way.

The Answer: Who Your Constant Companion Is

Last week I posted a personal development riddle and promised to give the answer today — along with some tips for making it work for you instead of against you.

I must say, all the answers were great, and could certainly apply (as I’ll explain in a minute).

But the answer that the author of the riddle had in mind is “habit”.

Habits can be good, or habits can be bad. They can empower you, or they can bring you down. As one commenter said: “First, you make your habits. Then, they make you.”

Two people got that answer: Tara Needham and Mark Kemp. Because of that, I decided to give an unannounced prize of a little plug for each of them.

I’ve actually used Tara’s services; she’s a transcriptionist, and an excellent one at that. I’ve used a lot of transcriptionists for interviews, and I’ve been frustrated with the inaccuracies from many of them.

Tara has a great attention to detail, so if you do interviews or other audios for teleseminars, podcasts, webinars, or info products, and want to increase the value of your offering by including transcripts (or making it into a book), see what Transcription Team can do for you.

I’d never met or heard of Mark before, but his website sells unique gifts: recordings of messages from loved ones, burned onto CD, for a special occasion (wedding, birthday, anniversary, graduation, or whatever you want to commemorate).

I remember a few years ago a marketing brethren was hospitalized with a brain aneurysm, and some of us did something similar in a makeshift way; apparently hearing all our voices helped his spirits and memory. So this could be pretty powerful: check out Priceless Memories to record friends’ and family members’ voices for presentation and posterity.

Now, about those other answers, and some tips for making habit your friend…

The Wealth of Health

Yeah, I know, it’s hard to find time these days to be healthy. Hard to find time to exercise, and hard to find time to cook healthy food. Hey, as much as I know the benefits of pure, home-cooked food rather than pre-packaged (and I can bake a mean chicken breast, while Barry’s a steak-grillin’ whiz), we too often end up eating preservative-laden meals that can be popped in the microwave, or even the dreaded fast food.

But it’s important to take self-accountability for your health.

  • If you don’t have a fun exercise routine that gets results, that’s your own fault.
  • If you find yourself consuming junk more often than nutritious wholesome food, that’s your own fault.

Your body is your most prized possession while you’re here living this life.

Health is its own form of wealth, and physical health is just as important as mental and spiritual health… yet some people put it in last place.

Ya know, there’s a reason people say, “As long as you’ve got your health…”

Now, I don’t subscribe to the notion that monetary wealth doesn’t matter “as long as you’ve got your health.” All kinds of wealth are important, and monetary wealth gives you the time freedom to pursue physical health more conscientiously.

I’m just saying that too many of us tell physical health to get in the back seat.

One key that’s often missing, that can help you achieve your physical goals, is the role of the brain.

If you don’t engage and stimulate your brain with exciting and fun workouts, of course you don’t want to do them. If you don’t tantalize your brain with bold, tasty dishes, of course you don’t want to eat them.

Another way to utilize your brain in your health goals is through brainwave entrainment.

Barry and I just found a new site with some quality brainwave entrainment audios. They’re based on binaural beats, so you have to listen with stereo headphones — but they’re designed to deliver some top results as you silently meditate, by cleansing your mind, removing negative vibrations, and rejuvenating your optimism and confidence.

That increases your concentration and memory power, while prepping your body for optimal health or other functions, depending on what recording you pick. But they’re priced so reasonably, you’ll probably want a few.

The audio mix is very relaxing, with nature sounds and music mixed in for a multi-level auditory experience that I like a lot.

They call the company Unexplainable… but the results are actually explainable through science (I’m not going to unwrap that mystery of life today… you can see more on their site, though).

Check out the Overall Good Health audio, available for immediate download, as well as the other recordings… topics include manifestation, past life regression, ESP, meditation, creativity, weight loss, prosperity, and a whole lot more.

How To Bust Loose From the Business Game

If you’ve been hanging around me for a few years, you might remember when I interviewed Robert Scheinfeld, and he talked about The Human Game — the reason we’re here on this planet — in ways you had likely never heard things said before.

And then he told you how you could start “busting loose” from the Money Game.

At the time, he completely flipped around a lot of the preconceived ideas I had about manifestation and how we create our personal realities.

Well, now he’s got a new book out called “Busting Loose From The Business Game” that promises to help you achieve radical results in your business life.

See, if you’re an entrepreneur or business person, or you’ve been working in any capacity, you’ve been playing what Robert calls “The Old Business Game”.

Just like a lot of “old ways” of doing things, that’s a losing way to play.

Robert’s new book is about finally winning, by playing “The New Business Game”.

> It’s rooted in metaphysics… likely on a different level than you’ve experienced before.

> It will shift your paradigm and your beliefs about what’s possible.

> It will help you out if you’re currently struggling.

> It will guide you do better if you’re currently doing okay.

> It will allow you have more fun if you’re currently doing well.

Basically, however you’re experiencing the Business Game now will become a much better journey after you read Robert’s book.

And if you buy the book this week only, you’ll get some extra tools from Robert that will support and guide you even more as you approach this New Business Game, and start playing to win.

Get your copy of Busting Loose From the Business Game, your “Busting Loose Fast Start Toolkit”, and more by reading Robert’s message here.

What Happens If You See, Hear, And Speak No Evil?

You hear the phrase, you see the monkeys, you speak it like it’s a life-saving mantra…

But by saying, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” are you doing yourself good… or “evil”?

Hmmm… that’s a brain twister.

Find out what Barry and I think about it on the LWL Worldwide blog.

Sweeet! Our Life MTV-ized!

Barry made us a sweet video of the best moments of our life in 2008.

Wow, it sure brings up some amazing memories… and I end up with tears every time I watch it!  Not just for the memories (good and bittersweet, like seeing our wedding, which is one of the happiest days of my life so far, and Mercury, my special cat who is no longer with us)… but also for the fact that I have a man who would make such a beautiful keepsake for us:

As for the tool he used — that you can also use yourself to create something that cool (yes, really, and just using pictures from your hard drive) — it’s called Animoto.

Now, we’ve mentioned a similar tool in the past called OneTrueMedia.  Both have free and paid options, and we opted for paid with both because of the premium features.

But while OneTrueMedia lets you add video clips and do more editing (like fading the music in and out around the audio on your own video), only Animoto does these highly professional-looking fades, pans, wipes, zooms, and cool edits so that you can look like an MTV producer even if you know nothing about editing… and all with just your digital photographs.

In fact, Animoto was started by former producers from MTV and ABC.

For more on the technical aspects of using this tool, check out Barry’s comprehensive review on the LWL Worldwide blog (it’s our LWL Tool #8).

As for why you’d want to make this kind of video for yourself (the metaphysical, rather than the physical, side of the story)…
