The Level of Your Success

Barry introduced me to this list of qualities, which comes from a high school athletic coach. As someone who didn’t play sports in high school, I was surprised at its source. It’s very astute, and I had expected it to be from a personal development expert.

Then again, maybe sports coaches are the most powerful personal development experts in our society.

Barry was heavily involved in sports, and his coaches were some of his best role models.

After all, we all know how sorely lacking lessons in self-esteem and success skills are in schools today. But sports coaches often fill that void, teaching kids the power of the mind as they don’t learn anyplace else.

Enjoy some proof of that:

The Level of Your Success is Dependent on…

1. The Daily Habits You Create

2. Your Most Dominant Thoughts

3. How Well You Serve Others

4. The Amount of Sincere Gratitude You Show

5. The Level of Commitment Towards Your Passion (Singleness of Purpose)

Soulful Artwork Come to Life

Yesterday, Barry found a very moving video and posted it on our blog.

It was created by a company that makes inspirational posters, but the video goes beyond way beyond any posters — or even other inspirational videos — that you’ve seen.

It features inspirational quotes, yes, and stirring music… just like many others.

But this is the first time I’ve seen artwork actually come to life in this way.

As a former art student, I found it very touching, and it actually moved me to tears a few times.

A few of my favorite quotes from it were:

“When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.”
~ Anonymous

“Before you try to change others, remember how hard it is to change yourself.”
~ Anonymous

“A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.”
~  Mignon McLaughlin

Prediction: Earth-Shattering Revelations in 2011?

Welcome to 2011 and a cool date: 1/1/11

This GUEST POST from my friends and associates at Thank God I… books gives an important prediction about YOU for the coming year.

Thank God I New Year Promo

There has been a lot of talk about whether the world will end in 2012.

Most people know this is what the Mayans — and many other “seers” and “prophets” — have predicted.

Some people give credence to these ideas while others think they are pure baloney.

The bottom line is no one will really know until 2012.

But we have our own predictions about 2011…

Screw “Resolutions” and Make 2011 The Best Ever

Ready for a “Happy” New Year?

Well, your happiness depends on you, and it’s all about perspective.

This GUEST POST from my friends and associates at Thank God I… books puts a thought-provoking, and potentially life-changing, spin on what happiness really is (don’t always pay attention to what Charlie Brown says)…

Sometimes life just sucks.

Sometimes we are struck with immense tragedy and pain.

Sometimes we wonder how we are going to go on one more minute, much less one more day, week, month or year…

Going All In For Life

When you go “all in”, you’re giving everything — whether we’re talking about poker or life.

And as we get older, it’s natural to think about what lies ahead, and wonder if we’re giving enough appreciative energy to being alive.

They say “you only live once.”

And while that may or may not be technically true (I believe in an afterlife and reincarnation, but that’s a discussion for another day), the point is that in this life — this time around, as the people we are today — we only have one chance to make a difference, inspire and serve others, and leave our marks…

A “Black Friday” Deal to Change Your Life

Did you spend yesterday being “thankful” for what you have… or was it just another day?

Of course, Thanksgiving is a nice reminder to express gratitude. But if you’re lucky, it’s no different than any other day of the year.

After all, if you give thanks for EVERY SINGLE THING in your life every day — the “good” AND the “bad” — you probably find more and more to be thankful for!

Because the real secret is, you need to appreciate your greatest challenges if you want to live the life you truly desire.

The authors of Thank God I… get that, and they’re able to say “Thank God I…” for some of the biggest adversities anyone could ever face.

As a result, they’ve found more joy, peace, inspiration, and empowerment.

The same can be true for you too, if YOU want it to be… and to get you started, here’s a special offer from the Thank God I… authors (including myself — I’m featured in the upcoming Volume 3).

It’s an awe-inspiring collection of stories about triumph over tragedy, as told in the best-selling books, Thank God I… Volume 1 and Volume 2 (you get the digital versions, so you can start reading them right away!)

Plus you get a selection of synergistic bonuses, including my new e-book, Unwrapping the Mysteries of Life

All for just $9.97!

10% of proceeds go to support the children’s charity, the Charitable Society of Friends.

And it ends after today, Black Friday.

To get your copies, just visit this link before midnight

You owe it to yourself to check out THIS special before all those ones at the mall, because THIS one could actually change your life.

Especially if you have challenges in your life right now, this could be exactly what you need to change everything by the end of the year… or even the end of the week.

Loving Both Sides of the Battery

We all know that Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks (yeah, duh!)

But what if you’re finding it hard to be grateful for anything, because it seems like your life is just full of challenges?

Well, traditional “positive thinking” type teachers gloss over the fact that you need to be thankful for ALL of it — the “good” and the “bad”.

Otherwise, it’s like you want a battery to power your iPod or remote control using only the positive end, not the negative end.

It just ain’t gonna work.

I just wrote a post on the LWL Worldwide blog addressing this issue, and giving you a wonderful solution that you CAN appreciate: Are You Thankful for the “Bad” Stuff?

Changing Perspectives with Age

The day after my birthday, I’m noticing a few things when it comes to perspective around age.

For example, for the first part of my life, every professional (doctor, dentist, business owner, store manager, lawyer, etc.) I ever dealt with was older than me.

For the next chunk of my life, they’ve been approximately the same age — some older, some younger, but averaging out around my general demographic.

Soon I’ll be entering a phase where they’ll all be younger than me.

I didn’t see these changes coming… they just kind of happened.

Do you remember the saying, “Don’t trust anyone over 30?” Well, “30″ used to seem “old”. Now it seems “young”.

Funny, though, I don’t really feel any older, despite all this. Maybe it’s like the French say:

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose. (The more things change, the more they stay the same.)

Nah, scratch that. I might not feel older, but I do feel I’m getting a bit wiser.
