Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day. Never lose a holy curiosity.”
— Albert Einstein

I’m a long-time broadcast journalist who has worked in all media — TV, radio, print and online — starting in 1993. I began interviewing on the internet for the first time in 1998, and for the second time in 2005.

I now conduct interviews for myself and for freelance clients; I’m known as “The Unwrapper”™ for my interviewing style (and because many of the sites I founded revolve around the branding of the concept of “Unwrapped” — which to me is about peeling back the layers of the onion to get to the core truth).

I’ve also been called the Internet Interviewer, the Barbara Walters of the Internet, the Queen of Interviewing, and the Dana Scully of Success.

I’m the premier freelance interviewer on the web because I regularly work for top-name clientele. In fact, I’m the only interviewer who’s been hired by and/or partnered with some of the biggest names in internet marketing and personal development… my clients and partners include Mark Joyner, Rick Raddatz, Alex Mandossian, Joel Comm, Eric Holmlund, Brad Callen, Paul Smithson, Ken McArthur, Codrut Turcanu, Warren Whitlock, Travis Sago, Wayne Van Dyck, Steve G Jones, John Castagnini, and others that I can’t mention due to non-disclosure agreements.

And don’t even ask me for a list of who I’ve interviewed, because it’s way too big to include here.

I’m unique among online interviewers, not just because I’m the top freelancer (since I also conduct interviews for my own projects), but because I approach interviews as a journalist rather than a marketer. Many interviews conducted for online products are “fluffy” and “gushy”, or formulaic “questionnaires” that lack imagination or creativity. Sorry to be blunt, but objective honesty is part of my journalistic approach — and so is my ability to listen intently and ask compelling, heartfelt, thought-provoking questions on the fly.

But I’m not just an interviewer, I’m also a writer. I focus mainly in the personal development, entrepreneurship, art and parenting niches. You can find out more about my work on the “Portfolio” page, and about my services on the “Hire Heather” page.

This blog is meant to share my innermost feelings and experiences, and I always try to wrap a life lesson around each post — something profound or powerful that I’ve learned that I hope you can benefit from learning too. Sometimes I talk about our products, or other products that have helped me and I think will help you… but you’ll notice that this isn’t your typical marketing blog.

It’s one of the few places on the web where you can read my true, heartfelt feelings and experiences. I hope you enjoy seeing Heather Vale Unwrapped this time… instead of hearing or seeing me “unwrap” other people and topics like I’m usually doing.

In the spirit of unwrapping my personal life, I’ll tell you that I grew up in Canada, and spent 20 years living at the heart of Toronto (arguably the country’s most vibrant city), married to a man who was my best friend for many of those years. Then we grew apart and I moved to Oregon for five years to be with a man that I honestly thought was my soul mate. Unfortunately the marriage turned violent and eventually I left with my young son to settle in Las Vegas, where I now live as a single mom and solopreneur.

For several years I used my married name, Heather Vale Goss, even after getting divorced. But eventually I chose to go back to Heather Vale for business.

You can find out more about my personal story and the lessons I learned (which I’m inspired to share with others so they can benefit from my challenges) on this blog. I believe that there are positives in every negative and negatives in every positive; gifts hidden in tragedy and a silver lining in every cloud.

Because of that, there is nothing about my past that I’d change… it made me who I am today and helped me become stronger, more compassionate, more aware and more in touch with my spiritual side (even though first it dragged me through the opposite of all those things).

I feel like a phoenix rising — which interestingly enough is the evolved symbol for my zodiac sign, Scorpio — and I couldn’t go through that journey without questioning and unwrapping myself. This blog has sometimes proved too much for me to face, and at other times has allowed me to complete the process that I needed to undertake.

And in the course of unwrapping myself, I’m unwrapping the mysteries of life. I love solving mysteries… and I hope you do too.

It’s the spirit of that thought that led me to write my book on real-life mysteries and drama, Crimes and Capers of the Northwest.

It’s different in many ways from what I usually write, but I look at the investigation of the criminal mind as a necessary yang to the yin of personal development. If you also like mysteries, in whatever form they take, you might enjoy reading it.

In the meantime, take a look around my blog and portfolio for a wide selection of inspiring, motivational, informational and thought-provoking articles.

Keep Unwrapping The Mysteries of Life!

“The important thing is not to stop questioning.
