{"id":153,"date":"2008-05-22T19:01:59","date_gmt":"2008-05-23T02:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/heathervale.com\/blog\/?p=153"},"modified":"2023-04-17T16:13:01","modified_gmt":"2023-04-18T00:13:01","slug":"im-finally-fre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/heathervale.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/22\/im-finally-fre\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m Finally FRE!"},"content":{"rendered":"<iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=https:\/\/heathervale.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/22\/im-finally-fre\/&amp;layout=standard&amp;show_faces=1&amp;width=450&amp;action=like&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;font=\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:25px\"><\/iframe><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/like.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fheathervale.com%2Fblog%2F2008%2F05%2F22%2Fim-finally-fre%2F&amp;layout=standard&amp;show_faces=true&amp;width=450&amp;action=like&amp;colorscheme=light&amp;height=80\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" style=\"border:none; overflow:hidden; width:450px; height:80px;\" allowTransparency=\"true\"><\/iframe><p>Since I&#8217;ve been pregnant (or at least, since I&#8217;ve know about it at 6 weeks) of course I haven&#8217;t been drinking any wine &#8212; even though in Europe pregnant women drink it without consequence, and in Canada they used to say a glass &#8220;every now and then&#8221; was okay &#8212; because here in the U.S. it&#8217;s Zero Tolerance (no alcohol for pregnant women).<\/p>\n<p>Actually they&#8217;re just being safe, because some studies have shown it takes much more alcohol than a glass of wine every few weeks to cause problems &#8212; BUT since they &#8220;don&#8217;t know&#8221; how much is safe, they just say &#8220;none at all&#8221;.  Better safe than sorry, and I&#8217;m fine with that, even though I feel they&#8217;re probably being over-cautious.<\/p>\n<p>But I really have missed my wine &#8212; not so much for the alcohol, but because I enjoy the taste, I enjoy the antioxidant health benefits, and I enjoy the ritual of sipping a fine beverage from a fancy glass.<\/p>\n<p>Enter my savior&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sutterhomefre.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sutter Home Fre<\/a> (alcohol-removed) wine!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been looking for de-alcoholized wine in the stores here for some time, but most of them don&#8217;t have it&#8230; now, however, we&#8217;ve found it at one local grocery store!<\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s not the sugar-laden low-grade non-alcoholic wine I remember seeing in Canada, that I never bought because sugar was one of the top ingredients&#8230; this is real <strong>Sutter Home<\/strong> wine (I got Chardonnay, Merlot and White Zinfandel) that&#8217;s had the alcohol taken out.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s another company, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arielvineyards.com\/wines.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ariel Vineyards<\/a>, who make nothing BUT alcohol-free wine, and I&#8217;ll probably give them a try too&#8230; but so far, the Fre (pronounced &#8220;free&#8221;) ones are nice, a little more juicy-tasting than regular wine, but definitely an enjoyable drink.<\/p>\n<p>These really are the best of both worlds &#8212; the good (taste, health, experience) without the bad (alcohol).<\/p>\n<p>And after all, life is about enjoyment.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Joy, happiness, gratitude, appreciation (all of which I feel when drinking the alcohol-free wine) are powerful manifesting emotions that we should take any opportunity to conjure up.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If we can enjoy while being healthy, and being good to our own bodies as well as our (soon to be) children&#8217;s bodies, then how does it get any better?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep Unwrapping the Mysteries of Life!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Heather Vale\" src=\"http:\/\/heathervale.com\/images\/heather_sig.jpg\" alt=\"Heather Vale\" width=\"185\" height=\"31\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since I&#8217;ve been pregnant (or at least, since I&#8217;ve know about it at 6 weeks) of course I haven&#8217;t been drinking any wine &#8212; even though in Europe pregnant women drink it without consequence, and in Canada they used to say a glass &#8220;every now and then&#8221; was okay &#8212; because here in the U.S. [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"ngg_post_thumbnail":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[9,22],"tags":[77,76,78,36,53,75,74],"class_list":["post-153","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-health-healing","category-spirituality-life","tag-alcohol","tag-ariel-vineyards","tag-de-alcoholized","tag-health","tag-pregnancy","tag-sutter-home-fre","tag-wine"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.8 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>I&#039;m Finally FRE!
