We Manifested A Dream House!

Well, for the past several months Barry and I have been looking at EVERY house in the local market that fell within a certain price range.

But we’re picky… we need somewhere we can live and work together 24/7, since we work out of the home. We need a place that has room for two offices (we work separately because when one of us is on the phone, interviewing someone or chatting up business associates and JV partners, or recording audios or screen-capture videos, both of us need to be able to concentrate, and not be interrupted).

And of course, we also need someplace with a separate bedroom for the baby that’s both near our bedroom, and my office, so he/she (we’re now affectionately calling the baby Mango instead of Peanut since that’s about the size he/she is) can get immediate attention when required, and when not sleeping right beside me.

We need a nice yard, where we can work outside if we want, or get some fresh air while still having privacy, or meditate and connect with nature… and we need to be away from noisy streets for sanity, and so we don’t have traffic noises in every recording we do.

We also need room for our home gym and our video studio. We need a big walk-in closet (yes, NEED, or else we have to live in an uninspiring mess). And we need modern bathroom and kitchen facilities, with a double sink in the master (because that’s what we’re used to) and granite or tile counter tops in the kitchen, including an island in the middle (because that’s what we like).

Yup, we need the perfect house… but we want this champagne-grade house on a beer budget.

And finally we found it… or, perhaps, it found us…

Our real estate agent, Michael Masters, is a surprisingly spiritual type of guy who really looks at things from a metaphysical perspective.

We didn’t find this out until we all went to lunch one day (after we had known him for a week or so) and he started talking about concepts that would have most clients think he was off his rocker. We just thought it was cool we had attracted the perfect realtor.

He’s also very connected — a builder who owns lots in the most desirable areas, as well as the owner of his real estate company, ERA Prestige Homes — and knows the ins and outs of the market like nobody else we’ve met.

He got a feel for the type of house we liked and took us (or had his partner, Frank, take us) to see everything that fell within our parameters, as well as keeping an eye out for anything new that might catch our interest.

We had already put an offer on one of the houses, because it was in the right area and a good price (bank-owned because of foreclosure). Only thing was, we considered it a starter home. It had a run-down yard, a dingy garage, and limited living space outside of the bedrooms and offices. The kitchen and bathroom had some good points, but also some bad points, and the closet was teeny (we were planning to buy a couple of armoires to supplement it, which would cut down even more on the bedroom space, which wasn’t huge).

And we obviously weren’t completely sold on it, because we kept looking while the offer sat dormant for a month.

Then Michael called up Barry and said he found our dream home — a little more money but everything we wanted, in the same neighborhood, and we had to see it because it was going to sell fast.

He said it might be beyond our comfort zone (and we’re the ones always telling people to get out of their comfort zones if they want to grow) but that we would be very happy with it… and he was right.

Okay, not a HUGE fan of the color (pale yellow) but Frank pointed out that it was probably Buddhist-related, having to do with the sunrise… and that made it more cheery in my mind.

And Barry’s office has to be in the living room/dining area rather than a separate room, because it’s a 3-bedroom — BUT the living area is huge, so there’s lots of room, and he prefers not to be enclosed by four walls while he works anyhow, so that turns out well.

The backyard is a beautifully landscaped English-style garden, with a rock path, a little bridge over a creek, lots of trees and plants… and more room for me to add the colorful flowers of my choice, a little waterfall and pond, and a pretty marble garden bench if I like. Behind the fence there’s also a vegetable garden and compost — technically next door, but owned by a commercial storage unit place that doesn’t use it, or even have anyone go back there.

My perfect backyard!

There’s not a grassy lawn in the back, which Barry especially likes… but there’s a stone-lined side yard that could easily accept some grass, and then we’ve got the best of all types of yards (there’s also a beautiful deck with a glass-topped patio set).

The kitchen is huge with more storage than I’ve ever seen, and the counter-tops are all tile… and yes, there’s an island in the middle which has the range on it, and access to cook from both sides, as well as an island counter to eat at.

And the master bedroom has spiritually motivational words painted all around it.. things like “Harmony”, “Serenity”, “Peace”, “Joy”, etc… a sign that it’s the house for us.

Not only that, but we made an offer we felt good about — the best deal per square foot out of all the houses we looked at — and the owners accepted it.

So with a little help from Dad on the down payment (thanks, Dad!) so that we could get out of our comfort zone, we just purchased our dream house!

Yes, it was a process… we decided what we wanted, and we put energy and focus into making it happen. Then we backed off and decided that if we weren’t meant to have the first house we put an offer on, something better would come along.

Yes — the standard formula for manifestation! Know what you want, give it your focus and energy, then let it go.

So it took about two months to manifest a dream house, from the time we decided we needed to move until the time we locked it down.

For a house that size… not bad, I’d say! Not bad at all!

Keep Unwrapping the Mysteries of Life!

  1. Congratulations you two or should I say “three”! Awesome manifesting – I’m proud! When’s the housewarming? Or, will it be a combo baby shower/house warming? Any way you plan it – keep me posted – love ya donna
