A Powerful Relationship Blessing

LoveBarry and I spent the past few nights doing a powerful ceremony called a “Relationship or Wedding Blessing”.

It was given to us for Christmas “from Cupid”… in fact, we gave each other and ourselves as a couple several gifts with tags that said “from The Universe” or “from Cupid”.

It’s a great way to deal with the fact that, if you’re like me, you often see things that you yourself would like when Christmas shopping for other people. But if it was something we knew both of us would like, we gave it to both of us “from the Universe.”

I picked it up from a local metaphysical store, but it comes from EyeOfTheDay.com.

They have a lot of little ceremony kits, actually… but if you’d like to do it on your own, from scratch, here’s how to do it…

The “Relationship or Wedding Blessing” kit was created to celebrate the love and friendship you share with someone. I think it also makes that love and friendship deeper, by bringing the two of you together in a mutual quest to strengthen your bond.

The contents (and what you’ll need to do it on your own) are:

* 3 white candles — to cleanse and bring in spiritual connectiveness

* White candle holder

* Relationship Blessing essence oil — created with a special blend of ingredients to bring:

  • 9 drops of continuing love and friendship
  • 3 drops of peace and harmony
  • 2 drops of passion and courage
  • 5 drops of loving communication
  • 4 drops of protection

* 2 Rose Quartz gemstones — to bring beauty and emotional balance

* 1 Heart Crystal with pouch — the heart symbolizing affection and trust

* Instructional scroll (with The Blessing written on it)

Okay, now the only part I can’t really tell you how to duplicate is the essential oil mix… because I don’t know what exactly is in it.

But I think the thoughts and energy behind it are more important than the actual ingredients, so if you want to do this from scratch, just pick an oil (or a selection of oils) that inspire and enlighten you.

Once you have all the ingredients, here’s a nutshell version of The Blessing:

1. Create a quiet space (like the bedroom), turn off all technology that might disrupt you (phones, etc.) and dim the lights.

2. Rub one candle with essence oil, put it in the candle holder, and light it together, knowing that you are willing to come together in this blessing and renewal of your commitment to each other.

3. Hold hands, sit quietly, and breathe deeply together while thinking about the happiness and power of your relationship, and opening your heart into the celebration of togetherness.

4. Read the metaphorical ingredients of the essence oil, then each pour a little into the palm of your hand (or each other’s hand). Massage your partner with the oil, while telling them the special qualities they possess and bring to the relationship, which make it joyful, passionate and loving.

When finished, extinguish and dispose of the candle (we chose to blow it out together, too).

Repeat the four steps for 3 nights. On the 3rd night, continue with the next steps:

5. Each take a rose quartz gemstone and repeat this mantra together: “May our love be strong and constant, may our love by fresh and burn with desire, may our communication be open and without fear.”

6. Place rose quartz, the bottle of essence oil, and heart crystal into the pouch and hang it in your bedroom to continually vibrate warmth and love over your union.

They suggest you repeat the blessing “every year and a day” to renew your commitment to each other.

Honestly, I’m not sure how many men would be into doing this ceremony, but I think if they’re in touch with their passion and soulfulness it’s a beautiful experience. I felt extremely close to Barry while we carried it out, and I know he did too.

And, if it’s something that goes beyond your or your partner’s comfort zone, perhaps that’s the sign that you really need to do it in order to take your relationship to the next level.
