Two Manifestation Miracles

This morning I went to get my second ultrasound done, with my new OB/GYN at the Women’s Health Center here in town.

The baby is 9 weeks old now… and wow, has it grown since my first ultrasound at 6 weeks!

baby at 9 weeksNot only that, but I saw it actually moving this time — whereas at 6 weeks he/she (or Peanut, as we call him/her) was just sleeping. And I heard the heartbeat, as strong and healthy as can be.

Here’s my latest baby picture. You can almost make out the hands and feet, which were actually waving around quite quickly at the time. The arrow is pointing at his head (yes, the head is the same size as the body).

It sure brings the term “miracle” into perspective when you can see the living results two people made… basically out of thin air!

I’ve seen the miracle of birth many times when I was breeding cats (and one of the reasons I chose my doctor is because she delivered her first litter of kittens at 9 years old)… but it’s different when it’s inside you.

Of course, we’ve been joking about having a built-in affiliate manager when it’s born… and I’ve heard of other internet marketers who proclaim their unborn babies to be the next online guru (in 10 to 12 years)… but while we’ll expose the child to some of the possibilities available to him or her, this baby’s future occupation will be his or her choice.

So that’s one miracle — the undeniable miracle of the creation of life.

What about the second?

Well, some people would call this “coincidence”, and it’s certainly not as wondrous as the baby, but it was pretty amazing at the time!

Last night Barry and I were watching the final game of March Madness — the NCAA basketball playoffs.

He wanted Memphis to win, and they were ahead at the time, after a tight game of back-and-forth point scoring.

But then he decided that he really wanted the game to go into overtime… just to see some more action in an already tight game. At that point it didn’t look like it would happen, but sure enough, just as he wished for, a fluke shot tied the game at the last second and sent the game into overtime.

Wow, who would have thought!

Only problem was, Kansas got their second wind for the overtime period, and Memphis was getting tired — so Kansas ended up winning.

Maybe one of those instances of “be careful what you wish for… you might get it”? 😉
