Things Aren’t Always As They Seem…

Mark JoynerI couple of years ago, I first talked to Mark Joyner by email. He was “The Godfather of Internet Marketing” and was credited with inventing ebooks, and I wanted his input for a project I was doing on publishing.

I ended up interviewing him by phone several times as well, and during that period I would get emails from his assistant every now and then saying, “Mark thanks you for your comment here” and she would put a link to one of my blogs where I had mentioned Mark or one of his products.

It really impressed me, because every time it happened, it was within hours of me posting the article in question. One time I even wrote, “I know Mark will read this, so…” and sure enough, he did.

When I first talked to him on the phone, it was to interview him for Success Unwrapped, and I took the opportunity when the interview was over to ask him how he was seeing my blog posts about him almost as soon as they were published.

He told me that he had been looking his name up in Technorati, and that was how he found new partners for Simpleology.

Simpleology, by the way, is “The Simple Science of Getting What You Want”… a very effective time management and goal-setting system you can get for free, with software that rivals certain aspects of expensive PIM programs and makes keeping track of your life — and keeping your life on track — much easier.

Mark makes it a point in public to NOT endorse manifestation techniques, preferring real-world hands-on tactics instead… but in fact, the visualization and emotional aspects of Simpleology are based on the same things that law of attraction experts teach.

Anyhow, when Mark was seemingly instantaneously tapping into my blog posts through Technorati, I figured he was living up to his reputation as the Godfather of Internet Marketing, showing how he still (even after people said he “retired” from the industry) was on the cutting edge of online technology.

But, things aren’t always as they seem…

Mark Joyner has just come out and admitted that he is a “blogging moron”. Hey, fair game… those are his words, not mine. I had the chance to finally hang out with Mark in person in Colorado last summer, and he’s definitely not a moron. But if he goes public calling himself a “blogging moron”, then I feel justified repeating that.

What this does prove is that things aren’t always as they seem.

Mark may have APPEARED to be leading the blogging revolution by keeping tabs on us through Technorati… but in the meantime he was saying blogs were just like an updated online guestbook.

He only recently admitted that blogs are, in fact, powerful ways to market and distribute content online. Something his followers (because nearly ALL internet marketers are followers of Mark Joyner) have been saying for years… and he only just got it himself.

Isn’t it ironic… don’t you think?

So to carry that irony a little further, Mark and the gang at Simpleology have just released a multi-media course on blogging for fun and profits. And for a while, they’re letting you snag it for free if you post about it on your blog.

It covers:

  • The best blogging techniques.
  • How to get traffic to your blog.
  • How to turn your blog into money.

I’ll let you know what I think once I’ve had a chance to check it out. In the meantime, you can grab yours while it’s still free.

I think it’s a neat touch, letting you have it free just because you blog about it. So all you need is a blog and a desire to enhance your efforts with it… and not just follow some course that tells you to post a bunch of PLR crap or have content placed there in auto-mode.

One thing I know about Mark is, he is a big supporter of original content for the internet. That’s also why my initial thoughts are, if Mark is putting his name on it, it’s gotta be good… and why I’m willing to recommend you get it before I tell you anything more about it.

Because even though things aren’t always what they seem… he does a very good job of standing behind only the things that are valuable to others.

As Barry and I keep saying… the only path to prosperity and abundance is to give value to the world.

Mark is doing that… and now’s your chance to do that too, with your own blog.

I wonder if Mark knows he’s making the Law of Tenfold Returns work for him? 😉
