How to Breed Warm Fuzzies

As we move officially into autumn, my Canadian mind is still focused on colder weather (even though where I live, it gets cool but not really downright cold).

So this quote really caught my attention:

“One kind word can warm three winter months.”
– Japanese Proverb

It’s easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget to be kind to others. But spreading around warm fuzzies actually brings good feelings to you, the giver, as well.

So how can you make a difference to others?

You can do a random act of kindness for a stranger or the greater good (for ideas, check out the Random Acts of Kindness database at non-profit organization RandomActsOfKindness.org).

Or you can do something special for a loved one that you may have taken for granted.

Offer to move something for them, tidy up their kitchen, offer free babysitting services, or just write a note listing everything you like about them.

The cool thing about kindness is, it snowballs over time (and yet, the snowball warms the winter months… how fascinating!) 😉

So go ahead and start breeding the warm fuzzies, and soon you’ll find yourself over-run by them (if that reminds you of tribbles, hey, I admit that image just popped in my mind too — but it’s all good!)
