A few days ago, I posted an article on the LWL Worldwide blog about overcoming fears using hypnosis recordings from Hypnosis Downloads.

But the truth is, the audios are very professionally made and highly effective — as long as you can open your mind to the possibilities, and allow yourself to go into trance state (like daydreaming, but as you listen to a soothing voice giving you suggestions).

It’s not a magic pill, though… you can’t just listen once and be done with it. You’ll be advised to listen to the same audio for a series of days, in order to really allow it to take affect and help you make permanent changes.

But the experience is relaxing and revitalizing, while working on whatever you want to overcome, so you can benefit on multiple levels.

I love a good bubble bath (what girl doesn’t?), and I’m planning on having a nice long one tonight.

I do it weekly if possible, and it’s great for relaxing and resetting. It’s also a perfect excuse to catch up on disposable reading material (I mean magazines) that don’t take too much brain power, but enhance the enjoyment of bath time.

If you’d like to make your next soak in the tub extra special, try this homemade bubble bath recipe I found in one of those very magazines:

4 cups distilled water

4 oz. liquid lavender castile soap

4 oz. vegetable glycerin

10 drops essential oil

Mix the water and soap, then add the glycerin and essential oil. Pour it in a bottle, and add up to 1 cup to your bath water.

Don’t forget to add the Epsom salts, which draw toxins from your body.

Happy birthday to Theodor Seuss Geisel, who brought us 44 imaginative and inspirational children’s stories in his 87 years.

Some were written as Theo LeSieg, but of course the best-loved ones were penned under the name of Dr. Seuss.

Needless to say, thinking about his rhymes brings fond memories of childhood.

But many of them were valuable to adults as well.

For example, Barry brought my attention to this quote, appropriately from Seuss’s Happy Birthday to You! book, which reminds us all to embrace our uniqueness:

“Today you are true! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!”

Barry introduced me to this list of qualities, which comes from a high school athletic coach. As someone who didn’t play sports in high school, I was surprised at its source. It’s very astute, and I had expected it to be from a personal development expert.

Then again, maybe sports coaches are the most powerful personal development experts in our society.

Barry was heavily involved in sports, and his coaches were some of his best role models.

After all, we all know how sorely lacking lessons in self-esteem and success skills are in schools today. But sports coaches often fill that void, teaching kids the power of the mind as they don’t learn anyplace else.

Barry recently came across a site that he pointed out to me — and it caused us both to scoff and shake our heads so much that I had to put on my Unwrapper hat and do some digging.

Funny thing is, the day he tried to show me the site, it was down. Now I know for sure that it was just a technical glitch, but at the time I thought it could be karma at work…

Because Wendy Webbe’s Scam Detective is either one of those cases of a misdirected internet marketing wannabe who’s been following bad advice… or an experienced marketer who’s scamming others under the guise of doing the opposite (how ironic, huh?)

I think I have to lay the initial blame on Kelly Felix and The Rich Jerk, who advised people to be controversial and talk about scams in their AdWords ads and reviews. But other teachers have taken those tactics and pushed them even further, and now it’s almost an epidemic.

These “experts” encourage new marketers to instill fear in their readers and capitalize on pain through the use of over-the-top hype… while claiming to be saving you from other over-the-top hypers.

It’s all done by preying on thoughts you’ve probably already had (“How do I know what’s a scam online?”), pretending to have the only answers, and attempting to make you feel like this fake person is “just like you.”

“What?” I hear some of you asking, “How can you put down a mother of young children — just like you — who only wants to make a living online for her family while protecting others from the scammers who already victimized her?”

I, yi, yi… where do I begin?…

Yesterday, Barry found a very moving video and posted it on our blog.

It was created by a company that makes inspirational posters, but the video goes beyond way beyond any posters — or even other inspirational videos — that you’ve seen.

It features inspirational quotes, yes, and stirring music… just like many others.

But this is the first time I’ve seen artwork actually come to life in this way.

As a former art student, I found it very touching, and it actually moved me to tears a few times.
