Yoga’s More Than Downward Dogs

When most of us think of yoga, we think about the physical kind: downward and upward dogs, and poses that resemble trees, cobras, bridges, bows, and various types of warriors, for example.

But I’ve just recently heard about jnana yoga, which is yoga of the mind.

This is a good explanation of it:

Jnana Yoga – The Path of Understanding

Jnana yoga is a path of yoga specifically for those who are intellectually inclined. (But you might not find Jnana yoga (pronounced as “YAN- na”) is the yoga of inquiry of the self as a path to understanding. This path requires

Of course, as always, I’m interested in how things that like can fit into and enhance our everyday lives.

Concepts are great, but practice of them is obviously better.

So here’s an inspiring article that helps with that… it’s all about the yoga of manifestation (or, I suppose, the yoga of emotions):

The Yoga of Manifestation | How To Balance A Busy Life

There is a yoga to life; it is the practiced art of lifting yourself up just one small step from wherever you are right now. Feeling just a little bit better.

So now, when your “dawg” is feeling “downward”, you have a few more options to uplift it! ;)

Mindful Cures for Any Issue…

A few days ago, I posted an article on the LWL Worldwide blog about overcoming fears using hypnosis recordings from Hypnosis Downloads.

That article focused on fears because we all have them, and they hold us back greatly in life. You can read my entire article on the LWL Worldwide blog here, which includes links to some common (and uncommon) fears that may plague you.

But there are also audios available for personal growth, reaching your goals, boosting creativity, overcoming procrastination and perfectionism, remembering names, and almost any other habit-busting or habit-forming need you can think of.

Then of course there are health-related downloads like reducing stress, curing insomnia, eating more vegetables, drinking more water, controlling food cravings for diabetics, easing eczema, and more.

And if you’re going through financial hardship these days (who isn’t, right?) you might find some help from extended programs like the Millionaire Mind pack or the Money Maximizer bundle.

In fact, with over 700 audios available, there’s a very, very slim chance that you can’t find one to help you out.

Self hypnosis might sound too good to be true, especially at these prices. But the truth is, the audios are very professionally made and highly effective — as long as you can open your mind to the possibilities, and allow yourself to go into trance state (like daydreaming, but as you listen to a soothing voice giving you suggestions).

It’s not a magic pill, though… you can’t just listen once and be done with it. You’ll be advised to listen to the same audio for a series of days, in order to really allow it to take affect and help you make permanent changes.

But the experience is relaxing and revitalizing, while working on whatever you want to overcome, so you can benefit on multiple levels.

To find exactly what you need, search the main database here.

Mix, Pour, Pamper, Relax, Reset

I love a good bubble bath (what girl doesn’t?), and I’m planning on having a nice long one tonight.

I do it weekly if possible, and it’s great for relaxing and resetting. It’s also a perfect excuse to catch up on disposable reading material (I mean magazines) that don’t take too much brain power, but enhance the enjoyment of bath time.

If you’d like to make your next soak in the tub extra special, try this homemade bubble bath recipe I found in one of those very magazines:

4 cups distilled water

4 oz. liquid lavender castile soap

4 oz. vegetable glycerin

10 drops essential oil

Mix the water and soap, then add the glycerin and essential oil. Pour it in a bottle, and add up to 1 cup to your bath water.

Don’t forget to add the Epsom salts, which draw toxins from your body.

Loving Both Sides of the Battery

We all know that Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks (yeah, duh!)

But what if you’re finding it hard to be grateful for anything, because it seems like your life is just full of challenges?

Well, traditional “positive thinking” type teachers gloss over the fact that you need to be thankful for ALL of it — the “good” and the “bad”.

Otherwise, it’s like you want a battery to power your iPod or remote control using only the positive end, not the negative end.

It just ain’t gonna work.

I just wrote a post on the LWL Worldwide blog addressing this issue, and giving you a wonderful solution that you CAN appreciate: Are You Thankful for the “Bad” Stuff?

Pick a Pillow, Win a Membership

I might almost get jealous over this post Barry wrote, if I didn’t know the challenges he’s had in finding the perfect pillow.

Yeah, in some ways the journey is like finding the perfect partner.

“What’s the big deal about pillows?” you might ask.

But if you’ve ever suffered from a headache or crick in your neck after sleeping on the wrong one, you’ll know exactly why he made this impassioned plea.

And if you help him out, you have a chance to win a one-year membership to The Wealth Vault, our insiders’ passive-investing club.

Interview with Fat Loss Expert

Is it really possible to ditch the cardio, keep the carbs, and still lose weight… especially fat?

I had the chance to interview one of the hottest names in fat loss and fitness — Rob Poulos, the author of Fat Burning Furnace — and his answer to that question is a resounding “Yes!”

Rob specializes in helping both men and women lose fat quickly and permanently through brief and infrequent workouts and simple diet principles.

It might sound too good to be true, but Rob and his wife lost over 100 pounds of fat combined with his methods.

Read the entire interview for more insight from the man himself:

HVG: Rob Poulos struggled with his weight for years, until he finally cracked the code that allowed him to lose over 40 pounds of fat in just a few months. Today he’s going to talk to us about how you can do the same thing. Rob, thanks for joining us.

RP: Thanks for having me.

HVG: Could you let everyone know a bit of background on your health journey, and how you were able to make such a big transformation in such little time?

Why Take Time to Meditate?

I know, I know… for fast-moving, ambitious people, meditation can seem like a waste of time.

For those grounded in reality, it can seem a bit “out there.”

But sometimes things just aren’t as they “seem”!

As I said in my latest article for Life As A Human:

“If you just pictured a monk sitting silently with hands on knees, fingers held together in loose circles, uttering “ohmmm” every few seconds, then you might have some trepidation about trying meditation. However, it really doesn’t need to be a big production, or something “woo-woo” or “weird”… basic meditation can be a simple process, but one that brings you huge benefits.”

To find out what those benefits are, read my article here:  Meditating to Quiet the Mind, Inspire the Spirit, and Rejuvenate the Body.

Take a Deep Breath

Breathing is such an important aspect of life, and yet most of us don’t do it properly.

In my latest article on Life As A Human, I explain:

“… the truth is, while we obviously breathe enough to feed our bodies, we don’t necessarily breathe properly enough to nourish it. We breathe shallowly into the chest instead of deeply into the belly, essentially hyperventilating. It’s kind of like the difference between grabbing a quick junk food snack, and enjoying a healthy nutritious meal.”

To give your body the breath of life you need, read my full article: Deep Breathing for Ultimate Health.

Fighting Spirit = Fabrication or Inspiration?

A couple of days ago, some anchors on Fox’s Good Day New York said Bret Michaels must have been faking his illnesses over the past few weeks, because nobody can recover that fast… and because Michaels has gotten some nationwide sympathy over his ordeals.

Here’s a video of the accusation:

I admit, I wanted Bret to win Celebrity Apprentice, and was glad he did. But I started calling it over a month ago when it became clear that this guy — who I, like many of his colleagues, had written off as a non-contender — was one of the most creative, ambitious people I had seen in some time.

Bottom line, he won my respect and admiration based on his actions and abilities.

So here’s the question: if somebody has a fighting spirit, and is able to overcome and conquer what life throws his way, does that make him a faker?

Only to naysayers who never like to see people pull off what they don’t believe they, personally, can do…
